IPCB_LayerObject_V7 interface

An electrical layer of a board in the version 7 layer model, deprecated, together with the dielectric below it.

Remarks

IPCB_LayerStack_V7.FirstLayer, IPCB_LayerStack_V7.NextLayer, IPCB_LayerStack_V7.LayerObject and the other layer members of IPCB_LayerStack_V7 return it. It adds to the members of IPCB_ElectricalLayer the dielectric below the layer and whether the layer is shown in the view of a board.

The accessors are extension methods of IPCB_LayerObject_V7Helper (using PCB;).

Reads false when the board is null; setting the property then has no effect. The SDK examples set it and then call IPCB_Board.Update_PCBGraphicalView to show the change.

Dielectric

Returns the dielectric below the layer, which combines the dielectric layers that directly follow it in the layer stack.

Extension method of IPCB_LayerObject_V7Helper (using PCB;).

The combined dielectric layers run up to the next layer that is not a dielectric layer or that is a coverlay layer. DielectricHeight is their total height. DielectricMaterial is their common material, or Composite dielectric when their materials differ; DielectricType is their common type, or TDielectricType.eCore when their types differ. A layer with an empty material or the type TDielectricType.eNoDielectric does not count for these two values. Setting DielectricHeight on the returned object distributes the new height over those layers in proportion to their heights; setting DielectricMaterial, DielectricType or DielectricConstant sets the value on each of them.

For a layer that is not in a layer stack, and for the bottom layer when no dielectric layer follows it, the returned object has default values: the material FR-4, a height of 126,000 internal units (12.6 mil), a dielectric constant of 4.8 and the type TDielectricType.eNoDielectric.

LayerId

Returns the layer ID of the layer as a TV6_Layer value, the same value as V6_LayerID.
